Screening a movie overseas is difficult because of censor rules and regulations of that country. They don’t consider the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) certification done in India.
The distributors should follow the local rules promptly; failure to comply will result in huge fines as penalty.
Screening a movie in USA doesn’t require any re-censoring. The content we receive from QUBE doesn’t even have censor certificate. Can we screen the movie even before it’s censored in India?
Yes, we can screen the movie. As a responsible filmmaker, we don’t encourage to do it. North America market is biggest overseas market for Indian movies and distributors tried to exploit the market as the screening rules are very relaxed.
