Actress Priya Hassan who is single handedly working on making some good action oriented films launched her own film Smuggler under the direction of K.Veeru who has produced and directed many Telugu and Tamil films. This is for the first time that she is not directing her own film, two of her previous films "Jambada Hudugi' and "Bindaas Hudugi were directed by her. This is also an action oriented thriller in which Priya Hassan in featured in a role of three shades. Telugu and Tamil film actor Ramana is the hero of the film, while the remaining crew of artists and technicians have to be selected yet. Chakri, well known music director of Telugu films is the music director, while Maheshwaran who had directed the film "News' with Upendra and who wrote the story for Nandi which fetched a Best actor state government award for Kiccha Sudeepa has written the story.
Speaking to the reporters after the launch of the film, Priya Hassan said that she chose the project because director K.Veeru had something new to offer for her in terms of presenting her on screen and also the way his script is narrated. She said that the shooting of the film has already commenced and first day itself the shooting schedule has been fixed for a 12 hour call sheet which extends upto 9. P.M.
Veeru is an experienced director and I immediately agreed to be part of the film. He had made a film called "Aro Praanam' with Late Soundarya which became a big hit. He has directed many films which are even now spoken about' said the film's hero who has many good friends in Kannada including Kiccha Sudeepa, Yash, Yogi, Chiru and others.
Veeru said that the major portions of the film will be shot in Bengaluru, but later a ten day schedule has been planned in Bangkok where a few action sequences and songs have been planned. "We are also shooting some action sequences in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad' said Veeru. He said Priya Hassan is a perfect star material for action oriented films and promised that she will be presented in a totally different manner.
