"You could not have stepped out of your house on Thursday. The continuous pour of rain dissuaded people from doing any thing. They just celebrated Rajyothsava in front of TV Channels and taking rest for a longer time on Bed. But In Hassan, there was one place that celebrations were on full swing. The enthusiasm knew no bounds. There was shouting, ecstasy, joy, happiness which was displayed in full measure. That was in the Sahyadhri Theatre in Hassan. For the people watching the film "Kranti Veera Sangolli Raayanna' nothing could have prevented their ardent desire to watch the film. All because of Challenging Star Darshan' says Hari Gopal, a politician and a film enthusiast describing the over all picture of the grand opening for the film.
Hassan is no exception. The rains lashed like never before. People liked to be indoors. But there were a set of enthusiastic fans waiting from morning six o clock in front of theatres screening the film to get an opportunity to watch the film. Davanagere, Shimoga, Dharwad, Bijapur, Hubli, Shimoga, Ranebennur, Haveri, Mangalore, Tumkur, Mysore and Bhadravathy had heaviest rains, but the collections in these times were all time record. The story in Bengaluru where the film was released in number of theatres and multiplexes also recorded the same level of enthusiasm to give a thumbs up for the costliest film made in Sandalwood.
The verdict has been unanimous from all the centers. "Huge openings, top class report and opinion. And the theatrical collections may be somewhere between Rs. 15 to Rs. 18 crores for the film' is the uniform opinions expressed by trade pundits.
KVSR's opening even while the major part of the state was facing continuous rain has virtually put an end to the doubts of some Gandhinagar Pundits who were talking about the Nila Cyclone spoiling the KVSR party. Infact the biggest opening for KVSR despite the challenge of heavy rain fall has further strengthened the impression that Challenging Star Darshan is the Sultan of Huge openings.
The openings of KVSR has now masked the glory of huge openings received by Darshan's previous films like Gaja, Sarathi and Chingaari.
The collections in Urban and semi urban centers have shown the same trend. And in some centers where the film is released in two theatres like Belgaum, Hubli, Bijapur, Kolar, the collections indicate that there has been a heavier demand. In case of many Northern Karnataka centers, the celebration is more visible because many Sangolli Raayanna fans associations have also welcomed the release of the film with open arms.
According to reports, the film's collections on Day one in relatively lesser number of theatres will touch a gross of a little more than Rs. 3 crores. The multiplexes are sure to make a killing because the first week share of collections have to be shared in 50 -50 basis.
Rockline Cinemas had all the nine shows sold out on day one, while INOX and PVR have also recorded full shows in number of screens. Will KVSR which has taken a huge opening run for a longer time. It looks so as the reports about the film is ranging from Very good and Excellent. The reports for the Bond film which is slightly on the negative side may also help the film.
