At an emergency meeting held in Bengaluru, on Tuesday evening organised by the Karnataka Audio and Video Association headed by Lahari Velu, a stern warning was issued to FM Channels who have stopped airing Kannada based programmes and extending space for non Kannada music programmes.
"Air the Kannada based programmes or quit the state' was the stern warning issued by the pro Kannada speakers who were called to address the media and music lovers.
A deadline was also given by Agni Sridhar, journalist that if FM Channels do not change their style of working, they may have to face consequences. "We cannot allow our own language to be disgraced in such a fashion. "I was told by a senior police officer that the FM Stations have crossed all norms of decency and just behavior. This will be resisted by the Kannadigas' said Sridhar.
