Singer and Music director A.R.Rehana who is still known to film industry as the elder sister of Musical Maestro A.R.Rehman will be making a debut in Kannada films as a music director. Her first Kannada film "Mamaradha Mane' started off with the musical composition work on Thursday at Prasad Recording Studios. Speaking to the media persons after rendering a song in her own play back, the talented Rehana said that the film will have melodious songs as well as some modern songs. "The director of this film Sukumaran has given me lot of space and independence to craft out compositions in my own way. This freedom is enough to give my best. I am putting my foot forward by a step today. Let us see how the musical work progresses' said a confident Rehana to the bewildered media persons who had not seen any music director speaking with such a confidence.
Incidentally, Rehana's son G.V.Prakash Kumar is already an established music director in south and has composed music for the Ganesh starrer "Ullaasa Uthsaaha'.
Mamaradha Mane is being produced by S.Saraswathi from Kerala. It is directed by M.K.Skumaran who has directed a few Malayalam and Tamil films. He said that the film is a family oriented love story and has lot of emotions, comedy and action. The film's star cast included Sujay Arya whose first Kannada film Adhikaara is about to be released.
Well known television anchor T.T.Usha is playing the leading role in the film while Mohan Krishna who has worked in a few Telugu and Tamil films is playing an anti hero's role in the film. All the three artists are good speakers in Kannada language.
The film's editing work is being done by famous editor V.T.Vijayan.
