Madan Patel has done it again. Besides being a film maker, actor and a musician, he is also a politician who commands influence in his party for many reasons, Being a politician he knows very well how to draw media attention from news hungry channels which are bouncing on every opportunity to create some controversy.
To be fair to Madan Patel his present situation is easily understandable. After investing around two crores on the project, his film's release has been unnecessarily stuck because of the court cases which are ranged up against him and the film, all filed by Nityananda's counsels. This is a very disturbing situation for any film makers who has spent his money and creative talents to make a film based on a story that he believes in.
Patel is known throughout Karnataka for his musical talents though his contribution to the film industry is not all that glorious. But even then the song compositions in the film Passenger in which his son Mayur had acted was certainly the best we had heard so far. Patel should have thought that good days are ahead of him and should have waited for the court verdict on the cases filed by a discredited Swamiji.

While the Print media reports were highly critical of Madan Patel having sparked off a missile again after it has long been a settled affair, the Electronic media did take the opportunity to give some space to Madan Patel to express his version. Nagaraj was also called and he presented the versions from his side. But unfortunately for Madan Patel, the entire programme showed his duplicity, passion for getting publicity for the film (at what cost) and tarring the reputation of a person who is believed by large number of film producers and directors as a straight forward and honest man. Nagaraj, the Chief of Censor Board emerged victorious in this battle of wits that all started when Madan Patel repeated the serious allegation that the Regional Censor Board chief had sought a bribe to clear his film and song promos.
What Patel saw in this live programme was like an anti climax where scores of film personalities appeared on the TV channels to present their views on the subject. Top producers like K.Manju, Soorappa Babu, Umesh Banakar, M.S.Ramesh and others outrightly rejected Madan Mallu's allegation and said that they did not understand why he has been alone in his fight against Nagaraj, while majority of 325 producers who have cleared the Censor formalities during the tenure of Nagaraj were extremely happy with the way he had followed rules. To add comical twist to the entire live programme, journlist cum film director Shankar even suggested to bring in a lie detector test to the studio to verify the statements of Patel who was uttering one after the other lie to cover up his lapses.
Madan Patel should have known that the matter is subjudice and the issue of certification to the film can only be decided by the courts. The Nithyananda's counsels have approached the Court for the stay of release and promotional work of the film.
