Voluptuous Sameera Reddy who is getting a break in Kannada films though the film Varada Naayaka in which she is paired with Kiccha Sudeep says that she has no regrets about the way her career has taken shape. 'Infact I am very happy with the way her career has shaped up' says Sameera Reddy who is eagerly awaiting for the release of her first Kannada film which is expected to hit the screens in the month of November.

This Dusky skinned actress whose mother is a Kannada speaking Kodagu woman, says that it is her mother's wish that she is accomplishing after working in a Kannada film. "I had asked Kiccha Sudeep that I had to work with him in a Kannada film. We were part of the CCL cricket matches where he was the captain of the Karnataka Bulldozers team while I was the brand ambassador for the Chennai team.  After some time I received a call from producer Shankar that there was a role for me in his film Varadanaayaka.  I instantly agreed to do the project as I was being paired with Sudeep who is one of my favourite actors' said Sameera.

Sameera Reddy has already been part of Telugu an Tamil films. She has now worked for a Malayalam film and now completed her shoot for the Kannada film.

"I am proud that I have a dusky skin. That was the reason why I was approached by  a great director like Prakash Jha who wanted me to do an item number in his film "Chakravyuha'.'  says Sameera who stays in Mumbai but comes down South to work in films here.

"I am so proud of my dusky look. I am so proud to have black eyes, black hair and a dusky skin. I am a tall voluptuous girl and I can never be thin," Sameera explains.

The actress, who has appeared in Hindi films like "Race", "No Entry" and "De Dana Dan" apart from southern films too, admits her dusky look helped her bag the song in Prakash Jha`s `Chakravyuh`.

"When Prakash Jha called me, he said he wants me to do an item song and he can`t think of anyone else for it. He basically wanted a very earthy and rustic look for his song. It`s a very realistic film and this song was needed in the second half of the film.

"He liked the fact that I am fit. He wanted someone with the dusky skin," she added.

The 29-year-old is happy she has managed to carve a niche for herself in showbiz without a godfather.

"I always say without any filmy background, I have done whatever I want to do in life. I am happy the way my career has shaped up and there are no regrets. I am glad to be part of southern films as well which are being remade in Hindi. My latest (Tamil) film `Vettai` is being remade in Hindi" she said.

`Chakravyuh` has an eclectic cast featuring Arjun Rampal, Abhay Deol, Esha Gupta, Manoj Bajpayee, Kabir Bedi and Anjali Patil. It will release Oct 24. Varadanaayaka is expected to hit the screens within a few  weeks of the release of  her Hindi film "Chakravyuha'.
