Bollywood's well known film maker Subhash Ghai says that his only regret in the film industry was that he could not work with two top actors like Amithabh Bachchan and Kamal Hassan. "I had ardently desired to work with these two internationally acclaimed actors.
Amitji's film had stated and had even completed a week's shoot before the film winded up. Bachchan sir was sick for some time after which it look a farily longer time for him to recoup. Kamal did sign up my film, but did not give me the required dates. I was fed up and then started Hero with Jackie Shroff'' said Ghai.
Ghai was referred to as a Showman has started a corporate company Muktha Arts which is now involved in training and making of films. Now, subhash Ghai is producing a film Nimbe Huli directed by Hemanth Hegde which is almost completed and is ready for release. Hemanth Hegde had earlier made a Hindi film "Khanna and Iyer" under the banner of Muktha Arts.
Ghai objected to the usage of the word Bollywood and only said that Hindi films have to be referred to as Hindi films only. "We should not ape foreigners by calling Hindi films as Bollywood, Kannada films as Sandalwood, Telugu films as Tollywood and Tamil films as Kollywood.
Why cant we be original in this regard' asked Ghai when a questioner asked about the present status of Bolllywood.

"Everywhere in the trade the success rate is only ten percent. The film industry is no different. If you work out an average success rate it would always be between ight to ten percent. Same is the case in respect of other industries also. But the failures in film industry make a big news, than the statistics of block busters' said Subhash Ghai.
Ghai was in Bengaluru on Sunday night to attend a press meet of the film in which he recounted his association with Bengaluru. "I have written in many scripts of my hit films in Bengaluru. I have shot for my films like Kal Nayak and other films in Bengaluru I have shot sequences and songs in Bengaluru, Mysore and Chickmagalur which is the most visually captivating place in the state. What I saw in Bengaluru during those days is fully ethched in my memory. Bengaluru is quite different now with a number of cars in excess of Bicycles and Motor Bikes roaming in streets creating voice and air pollution. But still I have many sweet memories of Bengaluru' said the showman.
He said that he knew Dr. Vishnuvardhana who was a great friend to him. 'Ms. Bharathi ji had worked in my film Uththar Dakshin. . I shared some great moments with Vishnuji' said Subhash Ghai. Ghai said that IDBI has blacklisted the Kannada film producers from pumping finance as they had produced fake evidences to collect money and did not pay their dues in time. 'There is lot of money that has to come from Kannada film producers' said Subhash Ghai.
A good film makers needs good skill. Good films are made with passion. Five good films will be from five different directors who have totally different preceptions and have come from different backgrounds. In that way cinema is the most democratic form of art, described Subhash Ghai.
